I am thankful for...A

My 2 year old: "I'm lucky to have Mommy, and also lucky to have trash. Will you write that down?"

Trying to convince me to let her play with a wet sponge: "Mommy, it's GOOD to get wet. Peoples LOVE to get wet!"

"Daddy smells not good! Smell him!"

Picky Eater

Papa:  Annika, eat your peas and carrots.
Annika:  I don’t like carrots
Papa:  Have you ever tried eating carrots?
Annika: Yes, they taste like cat food (tat food)
Papa: I don’t think you’ve ever tried carrots.  I think you’re fibbing.
Annika: What’s fibbing?
Papa:  You’re telling me a story.
Annika: OK,  Once upon a time there was a little girl eating with her Papa.  Her Papa told her to eat carrots.  The little girl said she didn’t like carrots cause they tasted like cat food.

Cheetahs In Space

My 2 year old:
"Mommy, are you going to take me to outer space?"
     "Sure, someday..."
"Will you buy me a helmet? Because if  you don't buy me a helmet, I will die."
"I will buy you a helmet."
"Will I see Mars? And a cheetah in outer space? A cheetah IS in outer space, flying in the sky. Far, far away.We should go far, far away!"

An Ode to Her Daddy

Annika spotted a hole in her car seat cover. "What's this hole, Mommy?" I told her that I didn't know. "Daddy probably ruined it," she said with certainty.

When she is happy with her dad she calls him her 'buddy.' Once we were in the store and he wandered off and she asked, "Where's my buddy?"                           ....BUT when she gets mad at him:
"You're not my buddy!"

"Mommy, you're 20, and Daddy's 16."

"I love you Daddy. And I want you to be happy."

Annika was playing with Daddy with the doctor kit. When she was all done getting her 'shot' she hugged his foot and said, "You're my sweet doctor!"

Me: "What's Daddy scared of?"
Annika: "Daddy's not scared of anything!"

Adam: "I'm big"
Annika: "I'm small! ...I wish I was big"
Adam: "Why?"
Annika: "Because you're big and I love you."
